An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Asset Management & Building Safety Team for a Works Surveyor.  This is an exciting role within the team, where you will provide Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) with assurance that the construction process and quality are being adhered to by contractors . You will be responsible for the delivery of our Programmed Works to the SHP’s housing stock ensuring that our homes remain of a high standard and compliant with legislation. Assisting the Building Contracts Managers, you’ll provide technical expertise and advice, and monitor the major revenue improvement and capital budgets whilst also managing our Contractors to ensure they deliver our programmed works to the required standards, on time and within budget

SHP is a groundbreaking, innovative housing partnership working as a not for profit organisation in the Borough of Sutton with ambitious objectives for making Sutton a great place to live. Formed in April 2006 as an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) we work in partnership with Sutton Council and its residents, managing over 6,000 council properties and over 1,500 leasehold properties in Sutton. Although the housing stock is owned by the London Borough of Sutton, day to day management, maintenance and asset investment is the responsibility of SHP. The primary function of our Asset Management & Building Safety Team is to deliver a decent home for all residents and maintain our housing stock to a high standard. We want to ensure our housing stock is compliant with all statutory regulations and are safe and secure homes to live in. We have approximately 7,500 properties which include houses, bungalows and flats as well as a number of garages, houses of multiple occupancy, community centres.

As part of the role you will work closely with and support our DLO (Responsive Repairs & Voids), our Compliance and Building Safety Teams in the delivery of projects and performance of the role.

The ideal candidate will add measurable value to the delivered quality of projects, identify any issues promptly and recommend appropriate solutions.  You will ensure projects meet all regulations and are delivered to the highest quality. Carrying out detailed and regular inspections and compiling coherent snag documents in order to ensure that the works are delivered in line with the specifications. Developing strong professional relationships with all stakeholders - residents, internal teams and contractors to address any issues of deficiencies or non-complaints conformities and deliver successful projects.
